Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are in a playful mode. The colourful fashion alphabet that they displayed for D&G on Thursday was transformed into a Eighties nightclub with a black and white star motif taking over from the colourful letters and David Bowie and Mick Jagger on the soundtrack singing Dancing In The Street.
They mixed menswear into the girls’ wardrobes for autumn/winter with drop-crotch pinstripe trousers, cutaway waistcoats and huge bright yellow or pink blazers worn with trilbies perched on the back of the carefully quiffed hair – a tribe of Eighties mods to take the girls out partying.
