Stars including Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher are giving up tweeting - in a bid to save lives.

They have vowed to sign off Facebook and Twitter until a million dollars - around £640,000 - is raised to help stricken families in Africa and India.

The Digital Life Sacrifice is part of singer Alicia Keys' Keep A Child Alive charity for World Aids Day tomorrow. The celebrities have filmed "last tweet and testament" videos and will appear in ads lying in coffins to represent what the campaign calls their "digital deaths".

Lady Gaga is hugely popular on Facebook with nearly 24 million fans, plus more than seven million followers on Twitter. Grammywinning singer Alicia, 29, said it was "really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on". The R&B star added: "It's important to shock people to the point of waking up."

She admitted it had been tricky to mobilise so many top names to help spearhead the campaign because of their various work commitments.

But she added: "Once I was able to explain the concept to them everyone was in. In the end nobody I spoke to refused to sign up."

The campaign includes US celebs such as Elijah Wood, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, and tennis star Serena Williams.

Leigh Blake, president and co-founder of Keep a Child Alive, said yesterday he reckoned Lady Gaga could raise the money "all by herself". He added: "She's got a very mobilised fan base and is able to draw attention to important issues like this.

So today was the launch of Lanvin for H&M, did you guys buy anything?? Did you get what you wanted?

Valentino reworks Gap classic basics - the parka, the hoodie, the T-shirt and the cargo pant - for its new collaboration. The Valentino house say "We love mixing different cultures and we have been excited to mix gap's timeless essentials with our roman culture of couture," the label's designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli explained. "It brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap's fashion staples, synthesising the current trend of combining luxury with basics."

“UGLY BETTY” Actor Killed Mom with Samurai Sword,

An actor who appeared on “Ugly Betty” and in the movie Step Up 3D, killed his mother with a samurai sword while screaming Bible passages early this morning.


Did Ms Slater upset him by saying, and I quote "Under those gaping pores and cave man eyebrows, I thought you were smart".........mmmmmmm

Police say Brea took Yannick Brea hostage in their Brooklyn apartment before stabbing her multiple times, fatally.

Local news reports claim the woman was decapitated.

Neighbors heard the disturbance at around 1:30 a.m. and alerted authorities, who had to taser Michael L.Brea before taking him into custody and transporting him to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

According to a neighbor, Brea could be heard yelling, “Repent, Repent, Repent” during the 

incident.

Teri Hatcher Is Totally Leaving Desperate Housewives—and Pigs Are Flying, Too!

News flash: Teri Hatcher has not recently undergone any kind of partial or full lobotomy that would make her leave her well-paid, highly rated post on ABC's Desperate Housewives.

Despite a report from Britain's Daily Mail  and that vile horrid show on Channel 5 in the UK, that Teri is "inspired by the success of people like Courteney Cox...who bagged her own show" [bwahaha!] and will leave Housewives at the end of next season, we have the real story from ABC sources and Hatcher herself...

"There are not enough adjectives to describe how stupid, off base, and ridiculously untrue this is," Hatcher posted on her Facebook page. "'Newspapers should be accountable for this kind of irresponsible journalism and reckless fabrication of a story."

For the record, Hatcher says she's not leaving DH until the show is canceled. So when will that be?

ABC sources say that Marc Cherry's little ratings powerhouse of a series is fully expected to live on for at least a couple more seasons. The main cast is currently only contracted through the end of the current seventh season, but Cherry has said he'd like the show to continue, and the four leading ladies are presumed to be on board as well.

When asked if there is any truth to the Daily Mail story, an ABC rep says "No."

By the way, the reason we "bwahahaha'd" at the idea that Teri would be so envious of Courteney's Cougar Town gig she'd pull a David Caruso: Cougar Town (which we love) is doing just fine with about 7 million viewers, but Housewives is up 14 percent with 12.5 mil. So we're guessing Teri is feeling fine.

F.A.M.E LAUNCHES AT ‘THE PATTERN MARKET’

2ND DECEMBER 2010

Thursday 2nd December, East London The Pattern Market plays host to the official launch of F.A.M.E. This will be the first in a series of events celebrating fashion, art and music in East London. F.A.M.E have teamed up with the London charity Hestia, who mark their 40th anniversary this year. The event hopes to raise funds and awareness for Hestia’s domestic violence services.

  

From 12 - 6pm The Pattern Market will opens its doors to the general public for a unique shopping experience. Expect the store crammed full of outstanding vintage treasures, designer finds and original homeware and lifestyle products. Curated by Amechi Ihenacho, fashion designer and previously Fashion Editor of Flux magazine. The Pattern Market features an art gallery, selected high-end vintage fashion including Amechi’s own womanswear designer pieces, hand-made wall paper, fashion books and hand crafted homeware, all hand-picked from around the world.

The Pattern Market will be exhibiting limited edition fashion illustrations by east London based artist  iNadia. Her drawings and illustrations are influenced by the world of fashion, as glamour and a sense of escapism combine. iNadia has teamed up with ethical fashion label Organik Rocka to produce a series of t-shirts for Hestia which will be sold exclusively at the launch of F.A.M.E.

From 6pm onwards The Pattern Market will host the launch 

party of F.A.M.E, celebrities, fashionistas, artists and local talent will be attending the launch. The event kicks off with an exclusive acoustic performance by Surianne, debuting the charity single ‘Stronger Than Before’ for Hestia Housing & Support. The single will help to raise funds for Hestia’s Domestic Violence services, with all money raised going towards children and family projects - enabling mothers and children affected by domestic violence to rebuild their lives.
