Strictly Come Dancing’s outrageous outfits will soon be available in a high street store near you after the BBC confirmed it is in talks with a major retailer to launch a clothing line.
A range of 15 different outfits will be designed in consultation with BBC worldwide, the BBC’s commercial wing, and the show’s costume department.
The Strictly Beauty range featuring bronzers, lipglosses and nail varnishes is already on sale in Boots, and it is rumoured that hair-styling products, accessories and shoes could be added to the line-up.
The BBC’s Richard Halliwell confirmed the rumours and said the range would cater for all ages and sizes.
He said: “We’re a mass market show, we’ll not be putting out tiny Orla Jordan-inspired catsuits.”
Branded merchandise form TV shows such as children’s favourite In the Night Garden netted the BBC as much as £20 million last year.
