Day1 in Paris what an Amazing first day...
first of all we started with Balenciaga all rushing off to the Hotel Crillon to see NICOLAS GHESQUIERE present his spring/summer 2011 collection for the house of Balenciaga – a fantastically dynamic show that combined the designer’s signature futurism with rockabilly sartorial sensibilities, as well as fashion’s sexys faces: Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Freja Beha Erichsen and "Gisele". ohhh Gisele
They all wore one look each, they appeared with slicked-back hair in quiffs or high ponytails and dressed in creations of bricolage construction – iridescent sequins underneath gauzy woven stripes, crackled appliqué body panels on cocoon coats, fluoro embroidery on lace and shirts of patch-worked fabric.
There were riveted leather belts and lace leather jeans, hoof-like and six-inch-high shoes that boasted beaded fringing around the ankle, bright colours combined with urban black leather, argyle-print sequin dresses and - later - white and navy slashed shift dresses.
