Previous X Factor contestants have jetted to Los Angeles, Morocco and Italy.
But this year, those hopefuls who found themselves in Cheryl Cole's category travelled to the less-than-glamorous location of Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset for the judges' houses round.
However, while the contestants may have been slightly upset about missing out on a trip abroad, they were living in luxury inside the £4.5million Emporio property, which boasts five en-suite bedrooms and a cinema as well as stunning seaside views across Poole Harbour.
The Emporio mansion is one of seven superhomes built by Seven Developments and is currently on sale for a staggering £4.5million.
It was decided earlier this year that Cheryl would remain in the UK for the judges' houses after suffering from a case of malaria which left her in hospital.
After contracting the disease while on holiday in Tanzania, Cheryl was seen falling ill during one of the auditions at The X Factor, during which she ended up sleeping on the sofa.
She was quickly taken to hospital to be treated for the illness and, following her scare, X Factor bosses opted to keep the fragile star in England for judges' houses.

But Cheryl hasn't stayed in the UK since she was diagnosed with malaria, and had travelled to Los Angeles with dancer Derek Hough earlier this year to record tracks for her new album.
Cheryl's fellow judges Dannii Minogue, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh will not be staying in England though.
While Simon apparently decided to take his group to Marbella, Spain, Louis is thought to have gone back to his home country of Ireland as Dannii's group proved the luckiest of all as they managed to score a trip to Dannii's homeland of Australia.
And celebrities expected to have joined the judges to help them make their decisions include Sharon Osbourne, who came to the aid of Louis, and Simon's close friend Sinitta, a regular in the judges' houses section of the show.
Cheryl won't be alone either, as Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am, and Cheryl's former collaborator, is rumoured to be joining the 27-year-old singer in Poole.
Things are going incredibly well for Cheryl at the moment as she prepares to launch a followup to her huge debut solo album 3 Words.
Cheryl was seen last month leaving a photography studio after she apparently had shots taken for the new album.
It's believed that she's eager to get the record released before the end of this year and to debut the first single from it on The X Factor.
The record is thought to be self-titled under the surname Cole rather than Tweedy following her divorce from footballer Ashley Cole.
It has also been claimed Simon is desperate to have Cheryl join him on the judging panel of the American version of The X Factor early next year.
